Four Men Wounded in Central London Stabbing Incident
Four men were injured after a stabbing incident unfolded in London’s busy Covent Garden district on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a rapid emergency response from police and medical teams. Authorities confirmed that a 47-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody while detectives continue their investigation.
The incident occurred on Endell Street, a popular area known for its restaurants, theaters, and tourist attractions. Emergency crews treated the victims before transporting them to a major trauma center for further medical care.
Police Say Incident Appears Isolated
According to investigators, the four victims are men aged between 34 and 52. Officials said two of the victims have since been discharged from the hospital, while the remaining two continue receiving treatment for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Police also recovered a pair of scissors believed to have been used during the attack. The woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon. Authorities believe the incident was random, with no ongoing threat to the wider public.
Investigation Continues After Swift Emergency Response
Witnesses described a heavy police presence as officers quickly secured the area and established a cordon around the scene. Ambulance crews and specialist medical teams responded within minutes to assist the injured.
Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the attack and indicated that early findings suggest the incident may be linked to mental health issues rather than terrorism. Officers continue gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses as the investigation remains ongoing.
