Three Teens Face Charges in Jersey City Acid Attack

Three teenagers have been charged in connection with a suspected drive-by acid attack that left six women injured in Jersey City, New Jersey. Authorities said the suspects, aged 13, 14, and 15, allegedly carried out the assault by throwing sulfuric acid from a moped at a group of women on June 15.

The victims, including three teenage girls and three adult women, were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Officials reported that the victims suffered skin burns and peeling, while one 21-year-old woman received second-degree burns to her face and scalp.

Police Believe the Attack Was Targeted

Investigators believe the incident was not random and may have been connected to an earlier dispute involving a larger group. However, authorities have not released additional details about the alleged conflict.

The three juvenile suspects have been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, causing bodily injury, and other related offenses. Police have not disclosed how the additional suspects were identified after the initial arrest, and the investigation remains active.

Witnesses Describe Chaotic Scene

People living nearby described hearing screams moments after the attack as victims rushed for help. Emergency responders arrived quickly and transported all six victims for medical treatment.

Officials are also investigating how the suspects allegedly obtained the sulfuric acid used in the attack. Law enforcement has not announced whether additional arrests or charges are expected.
