Man Found Dead in Trash Bin Sparks Murder Investigation
Authorities in Coventry, England, have arrested three individuals after a man’s body was discovered inside a trash container in a local park. Investigators believe the victim may have been struck by a vehicle before being placed in the bin and moved to the location.
The body was reportedly found on March 13 after a member of the public alerted police to a suspicious bin near a park off Daimler Road. Officers who arrived at the scene confirmed that the deceased was a man estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old. His identity has not yet been officially confirmed.
Police say the case is being treated as a serious criminal investigation as they continue to determine the exact cause of death.
Three Suspects Arrested in Connection With the Case
Following the discovery, investigators launched a rapid search that led to the arrest of three suspects in Blackpool, located about 143 miles from Coventry. Those taken into custody include a man and a woman in their 40s and another man in his 20s.
According to authorities, the suspects were detained on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender. All three remain in police custody while detectives continue gathering evidence related to the incident.
Officials have not yet revealed how the suspects may be connected to the victim or the circumstances that led to his death.
Police Believe Victim May Have Been Hit by a Vehicle
Early findings suggest the man might have been struck by a vehicle before his body was moved to the park and placed inside the trash bin. Investigators are still working to confirm this theory and reconstruct the events leading up to the discovery.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about a possible collision or who noticed damage to a vehicle around the time of the incident to contact police. Detectives are also appealing for dashcam footage or witness accounts that could help identify what happened.
The victim reportedly had several distinctive tattoos, which police hope will help identify him and locate his family. The investigation remains ongoing as officers work to uncover more details about the case.
