Iran has strongly condemned recent U.S. military strikes in Hormozgan Province, accusing Washington of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure and causing the deaths of innocent people.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the latest attacks resulted in the deaths of eight civilians, including four men and four women. According to Iranian officials, the victims also included two brothers with disabilities. Baghaei described the strikes as violations of international law and alleged that the attacks were aimed at demonstrating military power by harming civilians.
Iranian Officials Call the Incident a War Crime
Baghaei stated that bridges and other civilian facilities were among the locations hit during the reported overnight strikes. He argued that targeting non-military infrastructure and civilians constitutes a war crime under international law.
The spokesperson further claimed that the incident reflects what Iran considers unlawful military actions by the United States. Iranian authorities have repeatedly condemned the attacks and called for international attention to the reported civilian casualties.
Tehran Says Public Unity Has Strengthened
Following the reported attacks, Baghaei said the Iranian people have become more united and determined despite the losses. He asserted that the country remains committed to responding to what it described as criminal aggression against its territory.
The comments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with the latest exchange of accusations further escalating the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States.
