Tragedy Strikes Newly Opened In-N-Out Restaurant in Idaho

A young In-N-Out Burger employee who traveled from California to support the opening of a new Idaho restaurant was among those killed during a deadly shooting in Twin Falls. The incident has left employees, customers, and the local community mourning as investigators continue searching for a motive behind the attack.

The victim, Ashley Garibay, 23, had joined a special team assigned to help train new employees at the recently opened Twin Falls location. Family members described her as hardworking, caring, and passionate about her job, saying she enjoyed helping others and embraced every opportunity to grow within the company.

California Employee Remembered for Dedication

Garibay had traveled from Stockton, California, as part of In-N-Out’s experienced opening team that assists with launching new restaurants and training local staff. Loved ones said she hoped to continue advancing her career with the company and was excited to be part of the Idaho expansion.

Company leadership expressed deep sorrow over her death, describing her as a valued employee whose loss has deeply affected the entire In-N-Out family. Friends and relatives have remembered her as someone full of energy, kindness, and determination.

Three People Killed as Gunman Opens Fire

Authorities said the shooting happened Saturday afternoon outside and around the Twin Falls restaurant, which had opened only days earlier. Investigators identified the suspected gunman as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who allegedly opened fire before later dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Along with Garibay, Christopher Claunch, 59, was also among those killed. Several others were injured during the attack, with some remaining hospitalized. Police believe the suspect acted alone, and no clear motive has been announced.

Community Honors Victims After Mass Shooting

The shooting shocked residents across Twin Falls and prompted community leaders to organize a candlelight vigil honoring the victims. Local officials also ordered flags to fly at half-staff as a sign of respect.

Witnesses credited an off-duty law enforcement officer and an armed civilian with helping stop the attack before more lives were lost. Authorities continue investigating the incident while offering support services to victims, families, employees, and first responders affected by the tragedy.
