D4vd Investigation: How the Case Against the Singer Unfolded

The criminal investigation involving singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has drawn widespread attention following allegations surrounding the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Prosecutors accuse Burke of murder, sexual abuse, and unlawfully mutilating the victim’s body, allegations he has denied by pleading not guilty.

The case developed over several months as investigators gathered forensic evidence, digital records, and witness testimony before filing multiple felony charges.

Relationship Allegations and Teen’s Disappearance

According to prosecutors, Burke first met Celeste Rivas Hernandez in 2022. Authorities allege that an inappropriate relationship began in late 2023, when the victim was 13 years old. Investigators claim the relationship continued until she disappeared in 2025.

Months later, authorities discovered the teen’s decomposed and dismembered remains inside a Tesla registered to Burke after the vehicle had been impounded. The discovery launched an extensive homicide investigation involving forensic experts and multiple law enforcement agencies.

Evidence Leads to Arrest and Criminal Charges

Investigators spent months analyzing DNA evidence, surveillance footage, phone records, financial transactions, and digital communications. Prosecutors also allege Burke purchased tools believed to have been used in the crime before the victim’s death.

Following the investigation, Burke was arrested in April 2026 and charged with murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. Prosecutors allege the killing was intended to prevent the victim from revealing their relationship, while Burke’s legal team continues to maintain his innocence.
