Six Hurt in Suspected Acid Attack in Jersey City
Six people suffered injuries after a suspected acid attack in Jersey City, New Jersey, prompting a major police investigation. Authorities said two individuals riding a moped allegedly threw a corrosive substance at a group gathered outside a residential area on Monday evening.
Officials believe the chemical involved was sulfuric acid. Among the victims are three teenagers. A 21-year-old woman sustained second-degree burns to her face and scalp and was transferred to a specialized burn treatment unit. The remaining victims were reported to be in stable condition.
