Suspicious Discovery Leads to Arrest
A Tennessee resident, identified as 42-year-old Christopher Thomas Collins, was taken into custody after his wife reportedly found disturbing video files on his smartphone. The discovery happened while Collins was undergoing a medical procedure and had asked his spouse to hold his phone — a gesture that would soon reveal troubling evidence.
Investigators allege that Collins had used hidden cameras to secretly record a teenage babysitter in a bathroom at their home. His wife, who had grown suspicious of his behavior, searched his device and uncovered numerous explicit recordings of the teen.
Allegations and Evidence Uncovered
According to law enforcement authorities, the wife initially deleted the videos after finding them, but later recovered them from the phone’s “recently deleted” folder. She documented the files and provided SD cards from hidden cameras to police. Officers say they located nine separate videos involving the teen, all allegedly recorded in the household bathroom.
Collins reportedly told authorities that the concealed cameras were installed to monitor for rats. However, he now faces nine counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony that carries serious legal consequences.
Legal Proceedings and Community Impact
Christopher Collins was arrested on January 14, 2026, following the report brought by his wife. He has since been relieved of his duties as a deacon at the local church where he served in a leadership role. Court records indicate he is scheduled to appear in court later this month to address the charges.
Local church officials have expressed their support for the victim’s family and confirmed cooperation with law enforcement throughout the investigation.
