Allegations Surface from Counseling Appointment Turned Assault

A mental health professional in his early 50s has been arrested and charged in New Hampshire after a female client alleged he sexually assaulted her during what was supposed to be a therapy session. Police in Bow say the incident dates back to summer 2025, when the woman initially sought help for relationship issues with her husband before attending therapy alone.

The accused, a 51-year-old pre-licensed therapist from Laconia, now faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated sexual assault. Authorities took him into custody on January 5, 2026, and he is being held without bail while the investigation continues.

Details From Police and Court Records

According to law enforcement statements and court documents, the woman reported to police that the therapist crossed professional boundaries during an August session. She claimed he made persistent sexual advances, touching and kissing her despite repeated objections. The alleged victim told investigators he said he found her “attractive” and wanted to help her “feel beautiful,” comments she found coercive given her vulnerable situation.

After the incident, the woman underwent a forensic medical exam, and laboratory analysis identified unknown male DNA evidence, officials said. Investigators continue to gather evidence and have asked anyone with information to contact local authorities.

Ongoing Case and Community Response

The therapist, who had not yet completed full professional licensing, was working independently under supervision when the alleged crime occurred, according to local reports. His arrest has sparked questions within the community about oversight and safeguarding in mental health services, especially involving pre-licensed practitioners.

Police are encouraging any other potential victims or witnesses to step forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
