A 17-year-old female teenager was rushed to hospital after being shot in the shoulder in a Miami neighbourhood on Saturday evening. Authorities say a 16-year-old male was also possibly grazed by a bullet at the scene as the police investigation continues.


Shot Spotter Alerts Prompt Police Response

Around 5:40 p.m., law enforcement received automated gun-fire detection alerts in the area of 342 SW 7th Ave. When officers arrived, no victims were at the original location. Minutes later, the girl contacted police from the area of Northwest 11th Avenue between 27th and 28th Streets, reporting she had been shot once in the shoulder and was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Second Teen Possibly Hit, No Arrests Yet

Miami police say a 16-year-old boy may have been grazed by a bullet at the initial scene. While no arrests have been officially made, officers were seen detaining an individual at the location. The investigation remains active as authorities work to determine what led to the shooting.

Ongoing Inquiry in Local Community

The incident underscores concerns around gun violence and public safety in the neighbourhood. Investigators are reviewing the ShotSpotter data and witness information to trace the origin of the shots and identify any additional victims or suspects. Residents are urged to come forward if they observed suspicious activity.
