Disturbing Discovery in Jamaica, Queens

A tragic case unfolded on December 29, 2025, when New York City police responded to an assault report at a home in Jamaica, Queens, and found a 15-month-old boy unresponsive in a bathroom alongside his mother, 28-year-old Nicole Boodhai. Emergency responders rushed both to a local hospital, where the toddler was pronounced dead and Boodhai was treated for self-inflicted cuts to her wrists.

Neighbors reported hearing alarming screams from the residence shortly before authorities arrived, heightening concerns in the community.

Allegations and Arrest

Police allege that Boodhai called the child’s father before officers arrived and admitted to killing her son, identified as Charlie Ramraykha. Investigators reportedly found pills near the scene and believe the infant may have ingested them, though an official cause of death has not yet been released by the medical examiner’s office.

Following the discovery, Boodhai was taken into custody and faces charges including second-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child, according to law enforcement sources.

Investigation Continues as Community Reacts

Authorities have not publicly shared a possible motive for the alleged killing, and there is no indication yet whether Boodhai has legal representation. The case remains under active investigation, with medical examiners performing further testing to determine exactly how the young boy died.

The heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the Jamaica neighborhood, with residents describing a normally quiet area suddenly thrust into the spotlight of a devastating crime.
