Ontario Police Recover Truck Packed with Around 800 Pairs of Suspected Stolen Footwear cruiser driving

Police in Ontario have launched an investigation after a stolen box truck was found abandoned and containing approximately 800 pairs of work boots and shoes believed to be stolen. The incident unfolded late Tuesday night in the Waterloo Region, where officers attempted a traffic stop before the vehicle fled and was later located.

Truck Reported Stolen and Then Abandoned

At about 10:30 p.m. on November 11, officers responded to a report of a stolen box truck in the area of Townline Road. When they located the vehicle near Franklin Boulevard and Avenue Road, the driver failed to pull over and fled the scene. Roughly twenty minutes later, at about 10:50 p.m., the truck was found abandoned in the vicinity of Sheldon Drive and Lingard Road.

Hundreds of Pairs of Footwear Found Inside

Upon inspection of the vehicle, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) discovered an estimated 800 pairs of work boots and work shoes believed to have been stolen. The investigation is being handled by WRPS’s Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft Unit.

Authorities Seek Public Assistance

Investigators are asking anyone with information regarding the truck, its driver, or the stolen footwear to contact WRPS. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to local Crime Stoppers. Police say they hope public assistance will help identify suspects and recover any additional stolen goods.
