Newborn Discovered at Festival Campground
Authorities in Michigan have launched an investigation after the body of a newborn baby was discovered inside a portable restroom at the Electric Forest music festival in Rothbury.
According to officials, the tragic discovery was made on the morning of June 28 by an employee responsible for routine maintenance of portable restrooms in the festival’s camping area. Emergency responders and Michigan State Police quickly arrived at the scene, and investigators have since begun examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police confirmed that there is currently no known threat to the public.
Police Await Autopsy Results
Investigators have not released details about the baby’s identity or the cause of death. An autopsy is expected to provide more information as authorities continue gathering evidence.
Michigan State Police have appealed to anyone who attended the festival and may have noticed unusual activity in or around the campground to contact investigators. Officials have also urged the public to avoid speculation while the investigation remains active.
The case is being treated with priority as detectives work to determine exactly what happened.
Festival Organizers Express Grief
Electric Forest organizers released a statement expressing their sadness over the heartbreaking incident. They extended their condolences and encouraged attendees with any relevant information to cooperate with law enforcement.
The four-day music festival attracted tens of thousands of visitors and featured performances from several well-known electronic music artists. Later on the festival’s final day, severe weather temporarily disrupted activities, although limited operations resumed afterward.
Authorities say additional updates will be shared once the medical examination is complete and the investigation progresses.
