A murder suspect is in custody after an hours-long manhunt that shut down a busy stretch of Sunset Boulevard in Westwood on Thursday.
AIR7 HD captured the tense moments as Los Angeles Police Department officers located the man and pinned him to the ground along Sunset Boulevard, just east of the 405 Freeway.
Hours-Long Search
Police said the search began around 4:30 p.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Glenroy Avenue. Officers locked down the area and launched an intensive sweep that forced the closure of Sunset Boulevard for roughly four hours, causing major traffic disruptions during the evening commute.
After approximately three and a half hours, officers located the suspect and moved in. The man, who appeared bloodied, was loaded into an ambulance shortly after his arrest.

Limited Details on Case
Authorities have not released details about the homicide investigation the man is allegedly tied to, and the suspect’s name has not been made public. LAPD officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
Residents in the area expressed relief after the hours-long ordeal ended without further violence.
