Maryland Man Arrested After Double Homicide of Pasadena Couple During 911 Call anthony reyes 1

A tranquil waterfront community in Pasadena, Maryland, has been shaken by the fatal shooting of married couple William “Charlie” Hayes (56) and Jeanna Hayes (54), who were found dead inside their home Sunday afternoon. Authorities say the suspect, 61-year-old Anthony Louis Reyes of Nottingham, was swiftly arrested after a dramatic chase, and is now held without bond on charges including first- and second-degree murder. Key evidence in the case: a 911 call in which Jeanna pleaded with a man she addressed as “Tony” not to shoot her, immediately followed by gunfire.

Chilling 911 Call Captures Final Moments

Investigators say the couple’s adult granddaughter, who resides with them, was away at the time of the shooting. Around 1:55 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 1700 block of Twickenham Road. Court documents show that Jeanna called 911 and could be heard pleading “Please don’t shoot me, Tony,” just before gunshots cut the call short. The call also reportedly captured a verbal money dispute between Reyes and the husband, who was known as “Charlie.” Police say the incident was not random but targeted.

Rapid Arrest After Car Chase

Using the emergency call, license-plate readers, and witness tips, law enforcement traced a vehicle linked to Reyes. A pursuit followed along I-97 for about seven minutes before his arrest after a brief struggle. One officer sustained minor injuries. Reyes waived his right to a bail review and is being held without bond.

Family & Community in Shock

The Hayes, who ran a home-improvement business from their residence, were described by neighbors and friends as caring and community-oriented. “It just breaks my heart… he took care of his wife,” said a family friend.Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots, shaking their otherwise quiet enclave. Police have appealed for any additional information from the public.
