High School Safety Supervisor Arrested for Allegedly Coercing Student and Withholding Phone

High School Safety Supervisor Arrested for Allegedly Coercing Student and Withholding Phone 4c6112c9887a1537afbccffe6c54f18b

A school safety official in Vallejo, California was taken into custody on Tuesday after authorities say he allegedly took a student’s phone, refused to give it back, and demanded sexual acts in exchange for its return. Police say the disturbing incident unfolded inside a high school classroom before school staff alerted authorities.

Supervisor Accused of Withholding Phone and Coercion

According to police, 36-year-old Reuben Carter Freeman, who worked as a site safety supervisor at a local high school, confronted a student earlier in the afternoon and confiscated her phone. Investigators say Freeman then informed the student that he would only return the device if she complied with his sexual demands. During this time, she was allegedly prevented from leaving the room while he retained control of her phone.

Officials claim Freeman eventually gave back the phone after the student acquiesced to some of his demands and allowed her to depart the classroom.

Flight from Campus and Subsequent Arrest

When staff realized what was taking place and called police around 3 p.m., Freeman reportedly left the campus to avoid confrontation. Officers located him nearby and arrested him without further incident, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

He was booked into the Solano County Jail on multiple charges, including solicitation of lewd acts in public, false imprisonment, and robbery. Bail was set pending future court proceedings.

School & Police Respond to Incident

Law enforcement and school officials are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as the investigation continues. Authorities emphasize that this type of behavior contradicts standards of student safety, and they reaffirmed their commitment to protecting students on campus.
