Heated Exchange Over Discounted Turkey at Local Store

A routine grocery run turned dangerous at a suburban North Carolina Food Lion when a customer balked at the purchase requirement tied to a discounted turkey. The grocery-store employee insisted the man make a $35 minimum purchase to get the turkey at $4.44, prompting an exchange of words that rapidly turned physical.

Argument Turns Violent: Outside Confrontation and Gunfire

Following the initial dispute inside the store, another customer intervened when the man confronted the employee. Tensions escalated quickly; video footage shows the two men clashing at the entrance before one retrieved a firearm. Both men then engaged in an armed confrontation outside the store, exchanging gunfire. One man suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. When police arrived, both individuals remained on site and were questioned by detectives.

Investigation Underway — Charges Unclear

Law-enforcement officials are investigating the altercation, which stemmed from a seemingly harmless promotion dispute. It remains unclear whether any criminal charges have been filed at this time. Authorities are reviewing surveillance and witness statements to determine what led to the escalation and who may face legal repercussions.
