Authorities say the suspect was armed with a loaded firearm and large amounts of ammunition, raising serious concerns about what could have happened without quick intervention.
🔍 Security Team Stops Suspect Before Violence
According to investigators, the incident took place on March 15, 2026, at a church in downtown Houston. The suspect, identified as a 23-year-old man, had previously been removed from the church due to unusual behavior and distributing concerning material.
On the day of the incident, he returned carrying a backpack and allegedly concealed a weapon. A member of the church’s security team noticed suspicious movements and closely monitored him. When the man appeared to reach for a firearm, the guard quickly tackled him, preventing any possible attack.
During the struggle, the suspect reportedly began counting down while holding a phone, leading to fears that he might be attempting to trigger an explosive device.
