Kewon White Found Guilty in MO3 Killing
Kewon White, 27, has been convicted of capital murder for the 2020 shooting death of Dallas rapper MO3, whose real name was Melvin Noble. A Dallas County jury returned the guilty verdict on Sept. 4 after deliberating for roughly three hours.
Following the verdict, State District Judge Chika Anyiam sentenced White to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors had alleged that White was involved in a murder-for-hire plot targeting MO3, who was fatally shot on Interstate 35E in Dallas in November 2020.
MO3 Was Killed on a Dallas Highway in 2020
Noble, who performed under the name MO3, was shot on Nov. 11, 2020, during a daytime attack on Interstate 35E. Authorities identified White as the man accused of pursuing Noble before the fatal shooting.
MO3 was 28 years old at the time of his death and had established himself in Dallas’ hip-hop scene. He was particularly known for songs including “Errybody,” which helped build his national profile.
Prosecutors argued that White was connected to an alleged plan involving fellow Dallas rapper Yella Beezy, whose legal name is Markies Conway. Investigators have alleged that Conway arranged for White to kill Noble following a long-running dispute between the two rappers.
Yella Beezy and Another Defendant Still Face Charges
White’s conviction marks the first trial and conviction in the case surrounding MO3’s death. Prosecutors did not prove the broader murder-for-hire allegation against White as part of the trial, but the jury nevertheless found him guilty of capital murder.
Conway was indicted on a capital murder charge in 2025 in connection with the alleged plot and has pleaded not guilty. Another man, Devin Brown, has also been charged in connection with the case. Their legal proceedings remain separate from White’s conviction.
Because prosecutors chose not to seek the death penalty against White, the capital murder conviction resulted in a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment without parole under Texas law.
