Hawaii Authorities Search for Suspect Linked to Triple Homicide
Police on Hawaii’s Big Island are carrying out an intense search for a 36-year-old man wanted in connection with three separate killings that happened over a two-day period in the Puna district.
Investigators said the suspect, identified as Jacob Baker of Pahoa, should be treated as armed and extremely dangerous. Law enforcement agencies have increased patrols and deployed additional officers as the search continues across the island.
Officials confirmed that three elderly men — two aged 69 and one aged 79 — were found dead between Monday and Tuesday in different locations tied to the ongoing homicide investigation.
Victims Found at Multiple Crime Scenes
According to police, the first victim was discovered Monday evening at a residence where the body was partially submerged in a cement pond. Initial findings later confirmed the death was a homicide.
The second victim was found Tuesday afternoon with visible blunt force injuries near the location of the first killing. Authorities said the two crime scenes were only a short distance apart.
Later the same night, officers responding to a welfare check located a third victim roughly 19 miles away from the earlier incidents. The victim also had serious injuries consistent with foul play.
Investigators believe all three deaths are connected.
Police Increase Search Operations Across Big Island
Hawaii Police Chief Reed Mahuna stated that capturing the suspect remains the department’s top priority. Authorities have not yet released a possible motive or details about evidence tied to the case.
Residents in affected areas have been asked to remain cautious and immediately report suspicious activity. Police strongly warned the public not to approach the suspect if spotted.
Community members across the Big Island remain on edge as officers continue search operations and forensic investigations related to the killings.
Public Asked to Assist Investigation
Police are encouraging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately. Officials say public cooperation could play a major role in helping investigators safely resolve the case.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
