Christian Barmore Domestic Violence Charge Dropped in Massachusetts Court

Domestic assault charges against New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore have been dismissed after prosecutors decided the case could not move forward in court. The decision came during a hearing in Massachusetts where officials concluded the evidence available was not strong enough to support prosecution.

Barmore, 26, appeared in Attleboro District Court with his legal team for what was expected to be an arraignment. However, prosecutors informed the judge that the case was no longer viable, leading to the dismissal of the charge against the NFL player.

The New England Patriots have previously acknowledged the situation and stated they were aware of the legal matter involving the defensive lineman.

Allegations Stemmed From 2025 Incident

The charge was linked to an alleged incident that reportedly occurred in August 2025 at Barmore’s home in Mansfield, Massachusetts. According to court records, Barmore had been accused of grabbing his girlfriend’s phone and pushing her to the ground during an argument.

The woman later reported the incident to police and shared a photo showing bruises she said resulted from the altercation. A criminal complaint was eventually filed, leading to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a household member.

However, the case faced complications as it moved through the legal system.

Prosecutors Cite Lack of Evidence to Proceed

Authorities ultimately chose to drop the charge after determining the case could not be proven in court. Prosecutors noted several challenges, including the alleged victim now living out of state and being unwilling to return to testify in the proceedings.

Officials also pointed out that Barmore was not arrested at the time the complaint was initially filed, which further complicated the prosecution’s ability to build a strong case.

Barmore’s attorney has maintained that no criminal wrongdoing occurred and previously described the situation as a personal dispute rather than a criminal act.

What’s Next for the Patriots Defensive Lineman

With the legal case now closed, Barmore is no longer facing criminal charges related to the incident. The Patriots organization has previously indicated that it would continue monitoring the situation while also cooperating with league policies regarding player conduct.

Barmore remains under contract with New England and continues to be a key part of the team’s defensive line as the NFL offseason progresses.
