Nevada Man Sentenced to Life for Secretly Recording Children in Bathrooms c8c095de e5d5 4e10 b878 62143482d069 DonaldKarrII

In a chilling revelation of child exploitation, a Nevada court has ordered a life prison sentence for a man who covertly recorded children in private bathroom spaces. The 2024 arrest led to a guilty plea for using a concealed camera and cellphone to film minors under the age of 14, shining a spotlight on the severity of voyeurism and the protective measures required in shared environments.

Hidden Devices Found in Children’s Bathrooms

During the 2024 investigation by the Sparks Police Department, a 10-year-old child discovered a hidden recording device in a bathroom shared with a 12-year-old sibling. Authorities subsequently uncovered that the offender had placed a cellphone in two separate bathrooms to capture illicit imagery.
The convicted man, identified as Donald Karr II, admitted to placing these devices and subsequently pleaded guilty to charges of “using or permitting a minor under 14 to be the subject of a sexual portrayal” and possession of pornography involving a person under 16.

Life Sentence With Eligibility for Parole After 12 Years

The sentence handed down to Karr II is life in prison, but it includes eligibility for parole after 12 years. The verdict was handed down in a hearing presided over by the Barry Breslow of the Washoe County court system.
In delivering the sentence, prosecutors emphasized the devastating emotional and psychological harm inflicted on the victims, noting the community’s intolerance for offenses targeting the safety of children.
