Boy, 14, Stabbed Near Stadium Zone
At approximately 9 a.m., authorities responded to reports of a stabbing at the intersection of East 163rd Street and Grand Concourse — just blocks from the stadium. The 14-year-old boy sustained a stab wound to his stomach in what police say broke out as a confrontation involving three other youths. He was transported to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, and the circumstances that triggered the fight remain under investigation. Surveillance images of three young suspects—backpacks visible—have been circulated.
Shooting Affects Man and Woman Hours Earlier
In a separate incident early Thursday, just after midnight, a 27-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man were shot while standing outside a building on Briggs Avenue near East Kingsbridge Road in the Fordham Heights area. The woman suffered two gunshot wounds to her lower back and the man was shot in the right hand. Investigators recovered thirteen shell casings at the scene. Three suspects are being sought — two believed to have fired the shots and a third believed to have been present. Witnesses described one shooter wearing a light-gray hoodie with black sweatpants, another in a black hoodie with gray pants, and a third dressed completely in black. Officers have not yet confirmed whether the victims were targeted or caught in cross-fire.
