Teen Arrested Following Fatal Shooting at Seattle Festival

A 15-year-old has been taken into custody after a deadly shooting at Seattle’s popular Bite of Seattle food festival claimed the lives of three people and injured several others. Authorities confirmed the teenager is being held in juvenile detention while investigators continue to examine what led to the violence.

The shooting unfolded Sunday evening near the Seattle Center as large crowds gathered for the annual food festival. Officials believe multiple individuals exchanged gunfire, creating panic among festival attendees and leaving several victims caught in the crossfire.

Victims Identified as Investigation Continues

Authorities identified the three people who died in the shooting as 19-year-old Junior Cee Niko Semo, 44-year-old Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, and 56-year-old Ashley Whitehead. Officials said one victim died later at a local hospital after suffering critical injuries.

Several additional people were wounded during the incident, including a young child. Most of the injured have received medical treatment, while investigators continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Police Searching for Additional Suspects

Seattle officials believe more than one person may have been involved in the exchange of gunfire. While the 15-year-old suspect remains in custody, investigators are continuing efforts to identify and locate any additional individuals connected to the shooting.

The arrested teenager has not yet been formally charged. Law enforcement officials said the investigation remains active as forensic evidence is reviewed and witness statements are collected.

City Leaders Call for Action

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson described the shooting as a devastating tragedy for the community and emphasized the need for continued efforts to reduce gun violence. City leaders pledged full support for the ongoing investigation while offering condolences to the victims’ families.

The incident marks another high-profile act of gun violence in Seattle and has renewed discussions about public safety at large community events.
