Pedestrian and Two Drivers Hospitalized Following Intersection Crash in West Miami-Dade
A collision between two vehicles in West Miami-Dade on Thursday morning left three people hospitalized, including a pedestrian who was struck by a redirected car. The crash took place at approximately 11 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 23rd Avenue and 54th Street.
Preliminary reports from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office indicate that a car traveling eastbound collided with a northbound vehicle within the intersection. The force of the impact caused one of the automobiles to veer off course, striking a female pedestrian standing nearby. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel transported the pedestrian and a male driver to Jackson Memorial Hospital, while the female driver involved was taken to Hialeah Hospital. Authorities have confirmed that all three individuals are currently listed in stable condition.
Investigators have not yet determined the primary cause of the accident or specified which motorist had the right of way immediately prior to the collision. It is also currently unknown if speed or distracted driving played a role, and no citations were immediately reported following the incident. This intersection is located in a high-traffic zone within the Brownsville neighborhood, an area characterized by a mix of residential and commercial activity where vehicle and pedestrian interactions are frequent.
