Multi-Agency Task Force Apprehends Notorious Latin Kings Members in Early Morning Raid
MCALLEN, Texas — A joint law enforcement operation in the Rio Grande Valley has resulted in the arrest of two high-profile members of the Latin Kings gang, officials reported following a raid executed before sunrise. The operation involved a coordinated effort between federal and state agencies, highlighting the continued focus on dismantling violent criminal organizations in South Texas.
The McAllen Air Branch of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) played a pivotal role in the mission, providing real-time aerial surveillance and tactical support. They worked alongside agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS). This multi-agency coalition utilized advanced surveillance techniques to track the suspects, ensuring a precision takedown that occurred in the early morning hours.
According to reports on the operation, the arrests were carried out with “flawless execution,” leveraging the specific strengths of each participating department. While HSI and the U.S. Marshals frequently spearhead investigations into transnational gangs and fugitive apprehension, the inclusion of CBP air assets allows for superior situational awareness, reducing the risk to officers on the ground during high-risk arrest warrants. TxDPS troopers provided critical state-level enforcement authority and manpower to seal the perimeter.
Authorities described the targets as “notorious” members of the Latin Kings, a street gang with a significant history of organized criminal activity. The successful capture of these individuals marks another step in the ongoing regional initiative to combat gang violence and improve public safety in border communities. No injuries were reported during the operation, a testament to the tactical teamwork employed by the combined forces.
The suspects are currently in custody, though their identities and specific charges have not been immediately released pending further judicial proceedings. Law enforcement officials praised the seamless collaboration between the federal and state partners, emphasizing that such unified fronts are essential for effective border security and crime reduction.
