The discovery came after officers executed a search warrant at a home on Newton Avenue, following a tip indicating possible human remains hidden on the property. Hazmat-suited investigators and forensic dogs combed the premises, ultimately revealing the grim find.

Current occupants — who moved into the house roughly a year ago and had no ties to the investigation — were asked to vacate during the search and were offered temporary accommodation.


Former Resident Named Person of Interest

Authorities have identified a former occupant of the home, a 74-year-old man with a lengthy criminal history, as the principal person of interest. He is already in custody and facing charges in connection with a separate 2023 murder case.
