A shocking incident in Waycross, Georgia, has left a family grieving after a man was allegedly shot and killed by his longtime friend during a heated confrontation. Authorities say the dispute began after claims of inappropriate behavior involving the victim’s wife, quickly escalating into deadly violence.
🚨 Dispute Turns Deadly During Car Ride
According to police reports, the incident occurred on the evening of March 13 when a couple was giving a ride to a friend in Waycross. During the journey, the suspect allegedly touched the victim’s wife inappropriately, triggering an immediate confrontation.
The victim, identified as a 35-year-old man, reportedly asked the accused to leave the vehicle after the incident. Moments later, the situation escalated rapidly.

Authorities say the suspect, a 29-year-old man and childhood friend of the victim, allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot him. Witness statements indicate the victim was shot more than once after collapsing.
Police responded to a 911 call and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers later located the suspect nearby, reportedly armed and attempting to flee, before taking him into custody.
