A 14-year-old boy who disappeared during a custody dispute in New Mexico has finally been reunited with his father after being missing for nearly three years. Andrew Escobar was 11 years old when he disappeared from Rio Rancho, New Mexico, in July 2023. Investigators believe he was taken by his mother during an ongoing custody dispute.
According to officials, the breakthrough happened on July 1, 2026, when an alert was triggered as Andrew and his mother entered the United States from Mexico. Border authorities identified Andrew as a missing child and immediately detained both individuals.
His mother is currently being held in Texas while awaiting extradition to New Mexico to face legal proceedings connected to the case.
