New Mexico Authorities Search Epstein’s Former Ranch

Investigators in New Mexico have begun examining a remote ranch once owned by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, marking a major step in a renewed investigation into allegations tied to the property. The search is part of a broader effort by state officials to uncover possible criminal activities that may have taken place there years ago.

The property, widely known as Zorro Ranch, sits about 30 miles south of Santa Fe and spans thousands of acres. Authorities say the search is connected to a reopened inquiry into whether Epstein used the estate as part of a network involved in sexual abuse and trafficking of underage girls.

State investigators, working alongside local law enforcement, have been granted access to the ranch with cooperation from the current owners. Officials say the move reflects a commitment to transparency and to supporting survivors who may have been affected by alleged crimes connected to Epstein’s activities.

Investigation Revived After New Evidence

The renewed probe follows the release of previously sealed federal documents related to Epstein’s case. These records reportedly contained claims and information that prompted state authorities to take a closer look at the ranch and reopen an earlier investigation that had stalled in 2019.

Attorney General Raúl Torrez confirmed that investigators are re-examining allegations linked to the property and reviewing earlier witness statements. Officials had previously interviewed potential victims connected to visits at the ranch, but the case was halted at the request of federal prosecutors several years ago.

Authorities now hope the search could uncover evidence that helps clarify what may have occurred at the site during Epstein’s ownership.

Questions Surround Activities at the Ranch

Epstein purchased the ranch in the early 1990s and later developed it into a large private compound with a mansion, guesthouses and an airstrip. Over the years, the property became the subject of allegations suggesting it may have hosted questionable gatherings and illicit activities.

Although Epstein faced criminal charges related to sex trafficking elsewhere, he was never formally charged in New Mexico before his death in 2019 while awaiting trial in federal custody.

In response to renewed public concern, state lawmakers have also established a commission tasked with reviewing past activities linked to the ranch and determining whether systemic failures allowed alleged misconduct to go unchecked for years.

Ongoing Efforts for Accountability

Officials say the investigation is still in its early stages and could involve additional interviews, document reviews and forensic analysis. While the passage of time may complicate evidence collection, authorities maintain that the effort is essential to ensure accountability and bring clarity to unresolved questions surrounding Epstein’s operations.
