A teenage boy and a young woman were injured in a stabbing in Chicago’s Loop district late Monday evening, authorities confirmed. The violent attack occurred as the pair walked near a busy downtown intersection, prompting a swift law enforcement response and ongoing investigative efforts.
Stabbing Incident in Chicago’s Loop
At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Monday, Chicago police responded to reports of a stabbing near the intersection of North Wabash Avenue and Washington Street in the Loop. A 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman were reportedly walking together when they were approached by two individuals dressed in dark clothing, according to police reports.
Both victims sustained stab wounds, with the boy suffering additional cuts to his left hand. After the incident, the pair made their way toward a nearby CTA Orange Line platform where emergency responders located them.
Medical Response and Victim Conditions
Paramedics transported the injured to separate hospitals for treatment. The 19-year-old woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is reported to be in serious but stable condition. The 15-year-old teenager was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Ongoing Investigation
As of now, no suspects are in custody, and detectives from Area 3 are actively working to identify and locate those responsible. Police are appealing to anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
