Police Seek Public Help Identifying Suspects In White Settlement Fatal Shooting
White Settlement police are urgently requesting public assistance to identify multiple suspects linked to the fatal shooting of a woman on Friday afternoon. Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Meadow Park Drive shortly after 3:00 p.m., where they discovered a female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries; her identity remains withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators have determined that two to three male suspects, believed to be in their late teens or early adulthood, entered the home through a side door. Following a physical altercation inside the duplex, the suspects fled the scene. Witnesses and security footage indicate that one suspect stopped outside the open doorway to fire multiple rounds back into the residence, striking the victim. The assailants were observed wearing dark clothing, specifically black hooded sweatshirts and face coverings, which complicates immediate identification efforts despite the availability of surveillance imagery. They reportedly escaped in a green passenger vehicle heading westbound.
Police Chief Christopher Cook noted the unusual nature of the attack, stating it is rare for strangers to commit such violence inside a home in this community, suggesting a specific motive may be involved rather than a random act. Adding to the complexity of the investigation, police confirmed this specific duplex was the site of a previous shooting last June, where a teenager was wounded during a robbery. The Friday incident prompted temporary lockdowns at nearby Liberty Elementary, Fine Arts Academy, and Brewer Middle School while officers canvassed the area. Authorities urge anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact the White Settlement Police Department immediately.
