Police say the shooting occurred on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue outside a restaurant where Boyd had been dining with friends. According to sources, a verbal altercation escalated into gunfire with at least two shots fired. The assailant fled in a BMW X8, and surveillance images of a suspect in dark clothing and multi-coloured sneakers have been released.
