Investigation Operation Underway Near Nancy Guthrie’s Neighborhood

TUCSON, Ariz. — Law enforcement agencies intensified activities late Friday as part of the ongoing search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, who has been missing since early February. Officers established road closures approximately two miles from Nancy’s Catalina Foothills residence and deployed a combination of Pima County Sheriff’s units and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) vehicles to the scene.

Forensics teams and patrols were observed moving through the blocked area, signaling a coordinated effort to pursue new leads in the high-profile case that has drawn nationwide interest.

Vehicle Towed, Evidence Collected as Part of Probe

In conjunction with the roadblock, authorities tagged and towed a Range Rover SUV from the parking area of a nearby restaurant located near the search zone. The significance of the vehicle’s removal has not been fully disclosed, but officials confirmed it was connected to the investigation.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that the FBI requested limited public details regarding the operation, emphasizing the sensitivity of the multi-agency probe.

Search Continues Amid Forensic and Public Leads

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 and reported missing the next day when friends and family became concerned after she missed a scheduled gathering. Investigators treating her disappearance as a potential abduction have previously found blood evidence at her home that matched her DNA. They have also recovered unidentified DNA at the property and submitted several items for testing, hoping to uncover critical clues.

Authorities have released surveillance stills of a masked person seen near the residence on doorbell camera footage and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. A reward for information leading to Guthrie’s recovery or an arrest has been increased to $100,000.

The ongoing inquiry continues to generate thousands of tips nationwide as law enforcement combs through leads to determine Guthrie’s whereabouts.
