First Victim Officially Identified Following Deadly Colleyville House Fire
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Sela Havea, 77, as one of the two individuals killed in a residential fire on Saturday morning in Colleyville. Firefighters responded to the 3600 block of Sweetbriar Lane shortly after 10 a.m., where they encountered heavy flames and reports that residents were trapped inside the home.
While authorities have not yet officially released the identity of the second victim pending forensic verification, family members and community leaders have stated that Rev. Salesi Havea, 78, also died in the blaze. The couple, described as pillars of the local Tongan community, resided in the home with their two adult sons, who managed to escape the structure and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is currently under investigation by the Colleyville Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal.
