A vast archive of declassified emails from U.S. authorities has thrust Swedish model scout Daniel Siad into the spotlight, shedding light on his persistent correspondence with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and activities linked to recruiting women across multiple countries. The exchanges depict frequent travel, scouting trips and arrangements that have now drawn fresh legal allegations and investigative interest in Europe.
International Scouting Communications with Epstein
The trove of emails reveals consistent back-and-forth messages between Siad and Epstein over more than a decade, often discussing travel plans, profiles of potential recruits, and reimbursements for expenses. Siad’s role, described in the documents as that of a “scout or recruiter” for aspiring models and other women, saw him communicating about contacts in Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Mediterranean — including Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Barcelona, Morocco and Cuba.
Siad regularly forwarded photos and personal details of women he encountered, sometimes offering descriptions highlighting age and nationality. Some investigative teams have reported that at least several Dutch women, initially approached for legitimate modelling opportunities, later learned their images were shared with Epstein’s network.
Allegations, Legal Action and Public Scrutiny
Siad has vocally maintained that his interactions were strictly professional and tied to legitimate casting sessions, and that he was unaware of Epstein’s criminal history. However, multiple women have now come forward with allegations stretching back decades. In Paris, former model Ebba Karlsson filed a criminal complaint accusing Siad of rape and human trafficking, citing an encounter from the early 1990s that she says was facilitated under false pretenses.
Another woman, known in media reports as Malika, told French authorities she was approached on the street with promises of modelling work and later introduced to Epstein, who offered her a job as a masseuse. While that earlier complaint did not prompt immediate action, renewed attention on the declassified files has reinvigorated legal and public scrutiny.
Broader Implications and Continuing Investigations
The revelations arrive amid growing global examination of Epstein-related networks, with authorities across Europe — from Poland to France — reviewing the newly unsealed documents for potential leads and unresolved allegations. The files have exposed a complex web of contacts that extend far beyond the United States, prompting questions about how modelling channels may have been used to facilitate introductions and meetings for powerful figures.
