FREMONT, California — A shocking early-morning incident in Fremont has ended with a 93-year-old man in custody after his wife was found fatally shot inside their car, police said. The call came in shortly after midnight on January 3, prompting officers to a parking lot where the couple’s vehicle was parked.
Authorities identified the suspect as a nonagenarian Fremont resident who voluntarily contacted law enforcement to report the shooting and surrender. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 86-year-old woman deceased in the passenger seat, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
