Troubling Allegations Surface
An Army gynecologist has been formally charged after a civil lawsuit and criminal investigation revealed he allegedly recorded numerous female patients without consent during gynecological exams. The accusations extend beyond inappropriate touching to surreptitious video recordings capturing private, intimate moments — including breast and pelvic exams.
According to court papers, the patient — identified as “Jane Doe” — visited the doctor for pelvic pain and uterine concerns. During several of her appointments, the doctor is accused of sending away any assisting nurse or pretense of privacy, then recording the exam by placing a phone in his shirt pocket, camera facing outward. The lawsuit says the exams included invasive breast and vaginal procedures that were medically unnecessary, humiliating and deeply violating.
Scope of the Alleged Misconduct
Legal filings and Army investigators believe the misconduct was not limited to a single patient. The lawsuit alleges the doctor secretly filmed dozens of women over time. Some victims have reported similar experiences; others are being reached out to after investigators began notifying former patients treated by him. Military officials confirmed they sent out official letters to all patients who had appointments with the accused doctor, inviting them to come forward if they believe they may have been recorded.
In response to the mounting evidence — including photos and video files recovered from the gynecologist’s devices — he was suspended from duty and removed from patient-care responsibilities, and the military’s Criminal Investigation Division launched an extensive inquiry.
Betrayal of Trust and Growing Fallout
For many of those who came forward, the revelations have represented a profound breach of trust. What they believed would be safe, professional care turned into a trauma of exposure without consent. Attorneys representing the alleged victims say this case reflects “one of the most egregious violations of medical trust imaginable.”
Now detained pending trial, the gynecologist faces serious criminal counts — including unauthorized visual recording and conduct unbecoming of an officer. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing, and authorities have urged all potentially affected patients to come forward and participate.
