In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a man suspected in a fatal shooting was shot and killed by police in Trenton, Michigan. The incident unfolded after authorities traced a vehicle linked to the earlier crime to a residential area on Van Horn Road.
Suspect Tracked, Confrontation Ensued
Police received notification around 2:45 a.m. alerting them of a possible fatal shooting in Inkster. The suspect, driving a 2022 gray Ford Edge, was believed to have fled the scene. Officers from various departments were alerted and soon discovered the vehicle parked near 3700 Van Horn Road. Upon arrival, officers confronted a 37-year-old man who was reportedly armed — leading to a brief but deadly exchange of gunfire. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Local law enforcement confirmed that no officers sustained injuries during the incident.
Investigation Underway by State Police
The responsibility for the ongoing investigation has been handed over to the regional special investigation team of the state police. Authorities are now collecting evidence and reviewing the circumstances that led to the shooting.
