The Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD) is actively probing two unrelated homicides that occurred just 24 hours apart in Fort Worth. The first took place on Friday evening following an argument at a residence, and the second was discovered early Saturday amid suspected auto-theft activity.

Lauretta Drive: Argument Turns Deadly

Officers were called to the 3800 block of Lauretta Drive in the East Division late Friday. Upon arrival, they found a man shot multiple times in front of a home. Emergency crews attempted resuscitation, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial reports indicate the victim engaged in an argument with a group of individuals, after which one suspect retrieved a weapon and opened fire. That group fled immediately afterwards.

Augusta Lane: Suspected Break-In Ends in Tragedy

In a separate incident early Saturday, North Division officers responded to a shooting call in the 3300 block of Augusta Lane. A man was located in a parking lot suffering several gunshot wounds to the torso and was declared dead on arrival. Investigators say the victim and three to four others—some wearing surgical masks and gloves—may have been involved in breaking into vehicles when the fatal gunfire erupted. The victim’s brother, who may have been present, has been interviewed.

Ongoing Investigations & What’s Unknown

FWPD has not publicly released any names of the victims or identified suspects in either case. Both scenes remain active investigations, and authorities are examining surveillance, ballistic evidence and witness accounts.
