Newborn Baby Discovered Inside Airport Toilet Bin

A newborn baby boy was found alive inside a sanitary bin at Penang International Airport in Malaysia after a cleaning worker heard cries coming from a toilet.

The disturbing discovery was made on Monday in a toilet designated for people with disabilities. The cleaner alerted authorities after realizing that the sounds were coming from inside the sanitary bin.

The baby was rescued and taken to Penang Hospital for medical treatment. Reports indicate that the infant still had his umbilical cord and placenta attached, suggesting that he had been abandoned shortly after birth.

Police Arrest Woman and Security Guard

Following the discovery, police began investigating the circumstances surrounding the newborn’s abandonment. Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from the airport and surrounding areas as they worked to identify people connected to the incident.

A 23-year-old Malaysian woman was subsequently arrested at the Bukit Jambul shopping complex, located near Penang International Airport.

Police also detained a 22-year-old man from Myanmar who works as a security guard. Authorities said the man was unable to produce valid travel documents when questioned.

Investigators are now examining the relationship between the two individuals and determining whether either was directly involved in leaving the newborn at the airport.

Investigation Into Baby Abandonment Continues

The case is being investigated under Malaysia’s laws concerning the abandonment of children. Police are continuing to examine CCTV footage, forensic evidence and other information gathered from the airport.

Authorities have not publicly established the circumstances that led to the baby being abandoned or confirmed the exact involvement of the two people detained.

The discovery has drawn attention to the serious issue of newborn abandonment, while the investigation continues to establish what happened before the infant was found.
