Jake Paul Criticizes Billie Eilish’s Anti-ICE Stance, Claims She Shouldn’t Call 911
Social media personality and boxer Jake Paul has publicly criticized singer Billie Eilish following her political statements at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Paul, who has been vocal about his support for former President Donald Trump, took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents after Eilish condemned the agency during her acceptance speech.
The controversy began when Eilish used her platform while accepting the Song of the Year award for “Wildflower” to speak out against ICE’s operations. During the broadcast, she stated, “No one is illegal on stolen land,” and concluded her speech with a strong dismissal of the agency. Eilish and her brother Finneas also wore “ICE Out” pins on the red carpet, a sentiment echoed by other artists such as Bad Bunny during the event.
In a series of posts, Paul targeted Eilish directly, referring to her as “Billie Eyelash.” He argued that criticizing one branch of law enforcement should disqualify an individual from utilizing emergency services. “If you don’t like ICE then you can’t call 911 when you’re in trouble,” Paul wrote. “If you don’t respect law enforcement agents then you shouldn’t depend on them. When Billie Eyelash gets her home broken into it’s not gonna be [expletive] ICE I can promise you that.”
Paul further mocked Eilish’s comment regarding “stolen land,” adding, “Wait technically she can’t get broken into because she stole the land.” These comments were made while Paul was attending the Winter Olympics in Milan, where he was photographed sitting alongside Vice President JD Vance at a U.S. women’s hockey game.
The posts sparked immediate backlash and correction from various public figures and social media users who pointed out the functional differences between ICE and local police departments. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) responded to Paul’s logic by clarifying how emergency services operate. “If I call 911 I get police,” Schatz wrote. “And they show up without masks, and identify themselves… And if there’s an officer involved shooting there is an immediate investigation.”
Other critics noted that ICE is a federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security specifically tasked with immigration and customs, and does not respond to domestic emergency calls like home burglaries. Some users also highlighted what they viewed as hypocrisy in Paul’s stance, pointing out that he and his brother Logan moved to Puerto Rico in 2021, a move that allows them to benefit from specific tax incentives while living outside the mainland United States.
This exchange highlights the growing intersection of celebrity culture and political discourse, with Paul positioning himself as a defender of law enforcement against what he perceives as celebrity hypocrisy, while Eilish continues to use her visibility to advocate for immigration reform.
