Tragic Discovery in South Florida

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. — A grim discovery shook a quiet Coconut Creek neighborhood early Saturday when police found two people dead at a home in what investigators believe was a murder followed by suicide. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of shots fired at around 4 a.m. in the 4800 block of Acardian Trail and uncovered the bodies of 34-year-old physician Jean-Dominque Foureau and a woman whose identity has not yet been released. Authorities suspect Foureau fatally shot the woman before turning the weapon on himself.

Details From the Scene and Ongoing Investigation

Law enforcement officials say the deceased woman had previously been in a relationship with Foureau and that the pair shared a child, underscoring the domestic context of the tragedy. Detectives continue to piece together the sequence of events that led to the early-morning deaths, with neighbors reporting an unsettling scene as first responders arrived.

Foureau was known locally for his work in emergency medicine. Records indicate he completed a residency in the emergency department at Broward Health Medical Center in 2024 and also served as a Battalion Surgeon with the Florida Army National Guard, though he was no longer employed by the health system at the time of the incident.

Community Response and Support Resources

The shocking loss has left residents and the local medical community reeling, and authorities have stressed that the investigation remains active as they seek further clarity. In response to the severity of the situation, law enforcement and community groups have highlighted resources available for individuals affected by domestic violence or emotional distress, including 24/7 hotlines and support services for those in crisis.
