Two men – a 63-year-old father and his 25-year-old son – were fatally shot in the early evening hours after a robbery at a jewelry store in Chicago’s Little Village neighbourhood. Police say an unknown male suspect forced entry into the store, fled the scene in a white SUV and remains at large as investigators scramble for tips.

Subhead 1: Robbery Turns Deadly

The incident began around 5:49 p.m. when the intruder entered the jewellery store and cleared out merchandise. Outside the building, a physical confrontation broke out, during which the suspect opened fire. Both victims were struck multiple times: the older man suffered gunshot wounds to his head, body and face, while the younger man sustained several wounds to his torso. They were both rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Subhead 2: Manhunt Underway – Witnesses Sought

No arrests have been made. The suspect was seen fleeing in a white SUV, according to authorities. Cook County Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of $10,000 for information leading to an arrest. Investigators are urging anyone with knowledge of the robbery, the getaway vehicle, or the shooter’s identity to come forward.

Subhead 3: Community Shock and Safety Concerns

The brutal double-homicide has shaken the Little Village neighbourhood, raising concerns about street-level violence and retail crime. Residents and business owners alike say they’re anxious about rising risks after dark. Police have increased patrols in the area while detectives continue to canvass the scene for surveillance footage and witness statements.
