Department of Justice Releases Massive Tranche of Epstein Files, Deputy AG Todd Blanche Announces 3 Million Pages
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has initiated the release of approximately 3 million pages of documents related to the investigation of late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the move today, marking a significant development in the government’s compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
The release comes after the DOJ faced intense scrutiny for missing a congressionally mandated deadline in December. The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law in late 2025, required the agency to make all investigative files regarding Epstein and his associates public. While an initial batch of roughly 12,000 documents was released last month, millions of pages remained under review, causing frustration among lawmakers and transparency advocates.
According to Deputy Attorney General Blanche, the sheer volume of the release—totaling millions of pages—necessitated a rigorous review process to ensure the privacy of victims. The documents are being published on the DOJ’s official website and are expected to include a wide array of materials, such as flight logs, grand jury testimony, photographs, and interview transcripts with FBI agents.
“The Department has dedicated hundreds of lawyers to reviewing these records to determine what needs to be redacted to protect the identities of victims of sexual abuse,” the DOJ stated in a briefing. The agency acknowledged that the number of documents subject to review had ballooned to over 5 million, including duplicates, which contributed to the delays.
The newly released files are expected to shed further light on Epstein’s extensive network of high-profile associates. Previous releases have already confirmed interactions with prominent figures across the political and business spectrum, including former Presidents Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, though neither has been charged with any crime related to Epstein’s abuse of underage girls.
Legal experts and victim advocates are currently combing through the massive data dump. The release is part of a broader push for transparency regarding how the government handled the decades-long investigation into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
