Tragic Discovery in Remote New Mexico Area
In San Juan County, New Mexico, an 11-month-old baby was found dead early Monday morning after being reported missing by its mother the previous evening. Law enforcement officers located the infant’s body in a remote location near Flora Vista, north of Albuquerque, following an intensive search that began shortly after the missing-person alert was made.
Search Launched Hours After Missing Report
According to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded swiftly after the child’s disappearance was reported late Sunday. The sheriff’s office confirmed that the search effort continued overnight and ended when the child was found shortly before 10 a.m. local time. While the identity of the baby and the exact cause of death have not yet been disclosed, investigators are treating the case as a homicide.
Sheriff Shane Ferrari said in a statement that the investigation is ongoing and that there is no known danger to the public. He described the loss as deeply upsetting and stressed that detectives are working to determine what happened and who may be responsible.
