Florida Pastor Faces Serious Criminal Charges After Online Investigation

A Florida pastor has been taken into custody after investigators accused him of sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy whom he allegedly met through an online dating platform. Authorities say the case began after they received a cyber tip about inappropriate online communication involving a minor, leading to a wider criminal investigation.

The suspect, identified as Timothy Chaneyfield, 42, was arrested at Orlando International Airport after returning from a work-related trip. Officials allege he met the teenager on multiple occasions at his residence, where the alleged abuse took place. Chaneyfield has been charged with several felony offenses and is being held on a bond exceeding $350,000.

Investigation Began After Cyber Tip

According to investigators, the inquiry started when a report from Instagram was forwarded through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, prompting local law enforcement to investigate the alleged online interactions.

Authorities claim Chaneyfield admitted during questioning that he had met the 14-year-old several times and engaged in illegal sexual activity. The teenager has reportedly received preventive medical treatment following concerns about potential health risks.

Additional Charges and Search for Possible Victims

In addition to charges related to the alleged abuse of a minor, prosecutors say Chaneyfield also faces accusations of failing to disclose his HIV-positive status before alleged sexual encounters, along with drug possession-related charges.

Law enforcement officials believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact investigators. Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active as they continue gathering evidence.

Legal Proceedings Continue

Chaneyfield remains in custody while the case moves through the legal system. As with all criminal proceedings, the allegations have not been proven in court, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty.

Investigators say they are continuing to review digital evidence and interview potential witnesses as the case develops.
