Police in Jamaica have launched a search for a suspect following the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old man after a dispute involving a cellphone charger reportedly escalated into violence.
The incident occurred on August 29 in Boscobel, St Mary, Jamaica. The victim was identified by local reports as Neshawn Williams, also known as “Checo.”
Argument Reportedly Turned Into Violent Confrontation
According to reports, the dispute began at a residence at approximately 1:20 p.m. local time. Williams and a family member allegedly became involved in an argument over a cellphone charger.
The confrontation reportedly escalated into a physical altercation. Authorities said a knife was allegedly used during the incident, leaving Williams with a serious abdominal injury.
Victim Pronounced Dead at Hospital
Williams was taken to Port Maria Hospital for treatment following the stabbing. However, he was later pronounced dead, according to reports.
The tragedy has prompted an investigation by authorities in the St Mary area as police work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deadly confrontation.
Police Launch Search for Suspect
The alleged suspect reportedly fled the location after the incident. Police have since launched a manhunt for the family member believed to be connected to the fatal stabbing.
