D4vd Faces Highly Restricted Life Behind Bars

Singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, is living under strict security measures inside the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Correctional Facility while awaiting trial on multiple felony charges linked to the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

According to details from individuals familiar with the facility’s operations, Burke has spent nearly four months in a single-cell housing unit under continuous supervision. His daily schedule is tightly controlled, with little personal freedom and no reported visitors since his arrest in April.

A judge recently ruled that prosecutors presented enough evidence during a preliminary hearing for the case to move forward to trial.

Constant Monitoring and Isolated Daily Routine

Burke is reportedly housed in a specialized unit where inmates remain separated for safety and security reasons. He stays alone in his cell, eats all three meals by himself, and every movement outside the cell is closely supervised by sheriff’s personnel equipped with body cameras.

Correctional staff reportedly check on him approximately every 15 minutes while surveillance cameras monitor the housing area around the clock. Despite the restrictive environment, officials say Burke has not received any disciplinary violations during his time in custody.

His daily routine follows a strict schedule. Breakfast is served early in the morning, followed by lunch before noon and dinner in the late afternoon. During the recent court proceedings, Burke reportedly woke around 4 a.m. each day, showered, changed into an orange jail-issued uniform, and was transported to court before sunrise.

Before one court appearance, he also requested and received a haircut provided by a medical staff member employed by the jail.

Prosecutors Outline Serious Allegations

Burke is charged with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During the multi-day preliminary hearing, prosecutors presented forensic evidence, witness testimony, and digital records while alleging that Burke lured the victim to his residence before fatally stabbing her. They further alleged that he attempted to conceal evidence by dismembering the victim’s remains and transporting them in his vehicle.

Defense attorneys challenged portions of the prosecution’s evidence throughout the hearing.

Following the presentation of evidence, the judge determined there was sufficient probable cause for the criminal case to proceed to trial.

Death Penalty Still Under Consideration

Los Angeles County District Attorney officials have stated that the case may qualify for the death penalty because of the nature of the allegations. However, prosecutors have not yet made a final decision on whether capital punishment will be pursued.

Burke is scheduled to return to court for arraignment on August 31, where the charges will be formally addressed before additional pretrial proceedings begin.
