An 11-year-old girl is facing a second-degree murder charge after her 15-year-old brother was found dead inside a home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Police took the girl into custody on Thursday, September 10, following the fatal shooting.

Police Respond to Edmond Home After Teen Is Found Dead
Edmond police officers were dispatched to a home in the 1100 block of Lapwing Road on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 9. Authorities discovered the 15-year-old boy dead inside the residence.
According to police spokesperson Emily Ward, investigators believe the girl was the only other person inside the home at the time of the incident.
The boy’s mother was reportedly away from the house when her daughter contacted her and said that someone had shot her son. Emergency responders and police were then alerted.
Juvenile Suspect Booked on Second-Degree Murder Charge
The girl, whose identity has not been released, was taken into custody the following morning, Thursday, September 10.
Authorities transported her to a juvenile detention facility, where she was booked on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with her brother’s death.
